Wait…what?

*stares hard at the calendar*

Good gravy…a year.

*ponders that a bit*

We’ve owned the Old Vic for a year?

*fights down panic a bit*

Yep, a year. Where DOES the time go?

We closed on the Old Vic December 1, 2008.

We still believe we made the right choice.

Looking back, it’s a curious mix of a LOT accomplished and not getting enough done.

The major problems in the house are corrected. New electric service is in, new plumbing is on the way in, the utility room has been roughed in…we have lights and switches and doors galore! Woo!

What’s next? Well some bathroom work…the half bath under the stairs…the completion of the utility room…the house is livable now…maybe it’s time to move there.

Hmmmm.

We’re happy with the progress this year…and hope for even more next!

CUAgain,
Daniel Meyer
(good gawd…a year!?)

It’s also a great excuse to get together with family and cook enough food to feed everybody twice!

It’s not a bad time to sit back a moment and think of something that you, in particular, are thankful for.

My life has been hard work, rewarded by wonderful things and amazing experiences. What am I thankful for? There’s so much, most years I don’t know where to start.

This year is easy. Really easy.

So what am I thankful for?

I’m thankful we got the call yesterday…

“Biopsy results–not malignant.”

It’s been a tense week.

Apparently I was broken and I got fixed today.

A Cone of Shame! They put me in a Cone of Shame! I mean…for a DOG certainly! They should always wear one as far as I’m concerned…but it’s simply undignified for a cat!

The cone of shame is giving me manoeuvrability issues…high-speed manoeuvrability issues…and airborn manoeuvrability issues…

Much crashing about is ensuing…

The only reason I’ve not shredded them where they stand is they scratch my ears for me (can’t reach ‘em in the friggen Cone ARGGGHHHH!).

And the drugs. The GOOOD kitty drugs…I’m positively loopy…and “just a little more” hyper then usual. I never realized before today that I could actually fly!

*Zoinks* And awaaaayyy! (wheeeeeeeeeee!)

Of course, summer’s coming, and that brings up another topic…

Remind me to tell you about the air conditoner later. It won, but it had to commit suicide to do so.
